✅ Verdict
Razor Returns is an absolute beast of a game, and it’s easy to recommend to fans of Razor Shark and total newcomers. The enormous top prize of 100,000x your bet is a big improvement on the original’s, and the overall design is excellent.
On top of that, you’ll find Mystery symbols, the Nudge & Reveal feature, the Razor Reveal bonus, and the Free Spins round with its increasing win multipliers too.
But remember: this is highly volatile like Razor Shark, so the more generous payouts are likely to be incredibly rare. Try our free Razor Returns demo now to sample the gameplay and test the volatility for yourself!

Razor Returns: Theme, Presentation, and Music
If you played Push Gaming’s Razor Shark, you can expect this sequel to be similar in various ways. Once again, it takes you deep underwater to a stunning world populated by colorful coral, small fish, and (of course) massive sharks that look like they’d delight in taking a bite out of you.
Razor Returns’ graphics are a little sharper and more detailed than Razor Shark’s, and the five sharks have all undergone a makeover since the previous slot. Specifically, each one now has a metallic accessory attached to their head, whether that’s a torch strapped to the green shark or a set of spikes on the orange shark.
Just like before, the sharks all look terrific and each one has a unique design. But the Wild Shark truly stands out on the reels, with glowing red eyes and a steel jaw attachment (another new addition).
Razor Returns’ music is an atmospheric reworking of the original’s soundtrack, and adds to the game’s exciting feel.
How to Play Razor Returns
Razor Returns plays out on a 5x5 grid (bigger than Razor Shark’s 5x4 layout) with 40 fixed paylines. You’ll win payouts for matching three, four, or five standard symbols on any line, but special symbols (e.g. Mystery symbols) can hit on any spin too.
The control panel has been tweaked a little since Razor Shark, and the buttons now have a cleaner look. Just push the ‘spin’ button to spin the reels one time, or use the ‘autoplay’ button to program as many as 1,000 automatic spins.
Setting up your stake is easy: tap the button featuring a stack of casino chips to pick a bet of €0.10 - €100. The ‘star’ button opens the Bonus Buy menu, and the ‘menu’ button at the top of the screen takes you to the detailed paytable.
Razor Returns Symbols and Payouts
You can build winning combinations with nine different paying symbols, including the five sharks. The Great White/Wild Shark pays the highest prize on the paytable, but that’s not much at just 12.50x your bet.
Other symbols include a diving bell, periscope, compass, and anchor — all ominously lying on the seabed, which doesn’t bode well for whomever they belonged to.
Mystery symbols play a big part in the game, especially if they reveal the Golden Shark, and various other symbols may hit during the Razor Reveal feature. The Torpedo symbol is a Scatter, and it’ll trigger the Free Spins feature if you land enough of them.
Razor Returns Volatility and Return to Player
As with Razor Shark, Razor Returns is very high on the volatility scale, but winning combos landed more often than I expected when I tested the game. Those payouts weren’t big by any means, but I managed to win once every few spins on average.
In terms of the Return to Player (RTP), Razor Returns has a theoretical return rate of 96.55% — a slight drop from Razor Shark’s 96.70%. Still, it’s well above the industry average, and the maximum payout is double the original slot’s too.
Bonus Features in Razor Returns
Fans of Razor Shark will recognize some of the bonus features in Razor Returns.
Wild Symbol
The Wild Shark symbol can stand in for other paying symbols to finish off a winning combination on any payline.
Mystery Symbols
Mystery symbols (featuring seaweed) land on the reels in stacks of five, and they can hit anywhere during both the base game and Free Spins round. If Mystery symbols appear, the Nudge & Reveal feature triggers.
Nudge & Reveal Feature
The Nudge & Reveal feature starts with Mystery symbols opening to reveal paying symbols, Wild Sharks, or Golden Sharks. Revealed paying symbols award a prize as usual.
When you push the ‘spin’ button to play again, the Mystery symbols nudge down one position while the rest of the reels spin normally. This goes on and on until no more Mystery symbols are visible.
Razor Reveal Feature
If Mystery symbols reveal Golden Shark symbols in the base game or Free Spins round, the Razor Reveal feature begins. All Golden Shark positions spin to reveal one of multiple symbols, including:
Free Spins Feature
Land 3, 4, or 5 Torpedo Scatters anywhere to trigger the Free Spins feature with a 1x, 5x, or 25x initial total multiplier, respectively.
Once the feature starts, reels 2 - 4 fill up with stacked Mystery symbols. These nudge down by one position on each spin, and the total multiplier increases by 1. At the end of every free spin, the total multiplier applies to all wins achieved in that spin. The feature continues until all Mystery symbols have disappeared.
Gamble Feature
The Gamble feature triggers whenever you activate the Free Spins bonus. You can either keep the free spins awarded or gamble them for a chance to win a bigger prize. If you play, the Gamble Wheel spins: this contains No Prize segments and segments with free spins prizes bigger than those already awarded.
Bonus Buy
Use the bonus buy option to win 3, 4, or 5 free spins for 106×, 186×, or 550× your bet, respectively. You can also buy random free spins for 200× your bet, or unlock the Razor Reveal feature for 500× your bet.
